Black History Fair - February 25-26, 2022
VI Cultural Fair - March, 2022
Time: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
In the months of February, March and April, Tutu Park Mall proudly presents Black History, V.I. Cultural Fair and Carnival.
February is nationally and locally recognized as Black History Month. In collaboration with community organizations, Tutu Park Mall’s Black History Fair pays homage to those individuals who worked tirelessly to achieve much-needed change in our world. The day is filled with musical and spoken word performances and presentations. Our stores and visiting vendors offer special sales to commemorate the holiday, including fragrances, t-shirts of your favorite African American figures, artwork and jewelry. Come and learn about important historical events and the individuals who fought for equality, justice, and freedom.
Right behind the celebration of Black History month, The Mall celebrates V.I. Cultural Fair. In March, Tutu Park Mall joins hands with proud Virgin Islanders of the community to celebrate the history and achievements of its sons and daughters. The event offers goods and delicacies from The Mall’s stores and local vendors, such as gooseberry and tamarind stew, and maubi and soursop juice. Relish in local cuisine from conch dishes, pigeon peas and rice, stewed pork, goat water, kallaloo, pig tail souse and potato salad, to assorted pates and Johnny cakes. Satisfy your sweet tooth with a slice of sugar cake and coconut, guava or pineapple tart.
Enjoy the mesmerizing performances of local artists, ranging from steel pan players, vocalists, bamboula dancers, story tellers and much more. The day is a classic representation of the Virgin Islands’ motto: “United in Pride and Hope.”
